Happy Birthday Marcus!!

Marcus had an awesome birthday this year, probably not to be outdone until he's old enough to take to Cedar Point. His "party" began Friday the 10th, his actual birthday, and lasted through Monday.

Day 1 @ Disneyland and California Adventure.

Saturday Oct 11

A Bug's Land was our first stop.

The ride below was HILARIOUS! It's pretty much like the teacups, but it had Heidi and I laughing out of control. Marcus was experiencing all this for the first time so he didn't really know what to think. He spent the entire ride with a look a terror on his face, his whole body spread eagle and stiff as a board!

After a Bug's Land we took a break for lunch at which point we met up with Uncle Bryan and his family, Tosh, Hayden, and Collin. If any of you know Bryan you'll enjoy this picture hopefully as much as I do.
Here's Marcus yelling "whooo-hooo" on the Golden Zephyr. Notice his hands in the air...he knows how to ride.
We caught Playhouse Disney Live on Stage. Along with the Little Einsteins, we saw Mickey, Tigger, Handy Manny and all their friends.
This was at the Parade of Dreams at Disneyland.

The boys on King Arthur Carousel.

That was it for day one. (sadly, daddy had to work that day, but was able to join us for the rest of Marcus's "party"). Sunday we took a day off, visiting with everyone, barbecuing, and giving our feet a break.

Cheering after we sang happy birthday, this time with more people.

Uncle Bryan, Tosh, baby Collin, Aunt Debi, Mike, and Javen.

Day 2 @ Disneyland and California Adventure

Monday, October 13

We started our day with breakfast at Denny's. From the beginning of planning this party, given the season and all I thought it would be fun for everyone, if they could, or wanted to, to dress up in a costume. So, below we have: (left to right) Hayden (Bryan's son, not in costume but wanted to be in the picture), Grandma Carey as a gangster, sporting a pink pin-striped suit, Marcus who refused to wear Buzz while he ate, Hayden as Ironman, Grandpa Franklin as the the ugliest redneck you've ever seen, Sterling as Hercules (hotness), me as a pregnant roman goddess, and then yes, Heidi as Laa Laa, and Brant as Tinky Winky. It was pretty hard to keep a straight face when they walked in the room.

We stopped for some pictures outside the gate right after we learned that COSTUMES ARE NOT ALLOWED! (unless you're 9yrs old or younger) We were all shocked. Those of us who had a change of clothes changed, the rest had to borrow or buy new ones inside the gate. It was pretty lame but we obviously still had a good time.

Told you he was ugly.

I think this was Marcus's favorite part of everything. His costume is seriously just as cool and high quality as Mr. Lightyear's himself. (Please note, it was extremely windy...I did not electrocute myself.)

Waiting in line for Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.
Kicking back to watch the Pixar Parade at California Adventure. It was a fantastic parade but I'm only posting one picture from it.
This picture is special because this is just before Buzz saw Marcus again. Surely he remembered him and his way cool costume because he looked right at him, sitting on Sterling's lap, and saluted him. They saluted back, and waved. What a moment for Buzz's number 1 fan!

As the day went on my feet and ankles started to swell. After all, my flip flops are 7 years old, this was the second day being on my feet all day, 8 months pregnant, (and let's not forget that fabulous feeling of your hips spreading, which I'm convinced feels exactly like getting crushed between two fully loaded semi trucks)...soooo, my aunt and I took turns on this hot wheel. Sterling got quite a kick out of watching me scoot around.

Sterling didn't want to take this picture...can you tell?

This was a great weekend and thanks to all those who came to celebrate with us! We loved having you here and visiting with everyone. These parks are great places for the little guys. Tons of rides without height requirements, and plenty that Hayden was tall enough for. Both boys got to ride their first coasters and loved every bit of it.

Parade of Dreams

Soakin up some Playhouse Disney
Airplanes fly over all the time here, and are REALLY loud sometimes. I think they've actually landed on our building a few times.
Playing hard calls for some relaxing time.
Below are just a few examples of how creative our Hayden is. He drew this by himself after watching the Happy Monster Band one time. His memory is incredible.
Check out his bee. This is (or was, until Grandma came) the extent of their toys here, forcing them to be creative. The crayons are a road leading to the house, complete with 2 pools and a chimney.
Enjoying the sunny outdoors.
So brave.
