A long one, & not really in order

Amy's Baby Shower
I threw Amy a baby shower, at her house, and below are some pictures from the event. If anyone wants help planning a party let me know. This was so much fun for me and I would love to do it again and again and again! A special thanks to Heidi who went with me and made set up and clean up possible!
Amy wanted a prayer & relaxation theme, so for one of the "games" we had prayer flags. Guests took turns writing special prayers, or words of encouragement for Amy to read while in labor. I made them into a small quilt for her, (with the help of my awesome Aunt Melinda and her sweet quilting machine, and my dear mother-in-law Leona who did the dreaded binding. Thank you!!)
The other "game" we had was a framed prego picture of Amy. We all wrote our baby tips and advice on the matting. A cute piece for the nursery.
Every baby shower needs a cake so I made one. It was chocolate cake with a cream cheese/cool whip frosting, and stinkin' delicious if I do say so myself. The baby is sitting on a miniature blanket I made with the scrap material.
The spread. Thanks Kanoe for the dishes. It really dressed it all up. Under the towel were rolls just in case you were wondering.
The punch. 7up & limeade with cucumbers.
The party favors. The idea here was a phone chain. When Amy goes into labor she's supposed to call one person, who then calls someone else, who then calls someone, etc. Upon receiving your phone call, you light your candle and turn your thoughts toward Amy and pray for her.

Boys...Brothers...Buddies
Still loves hats.
I mostly like this picture of dad. You smile as hard as you can and then try to lift your eyebrows. I feel your pain though dad. It's pretty much impossible not to smile at these boys.
Bath time.
I LOVE this sink!
Cute, & modest.

Good Bye San Diego, Hello Las Vegas!
On our way home from San Diego we stopped by Vegas to see Sterling's grandmother, Grannie. Our visit was short but nice. She had never met any of our boys so we made sure to take a picture. Four generations.
A quick drive by the temple. Anyone know why they made the roof black?
On our way out, we cruised the strip.

Good Bye Las Vegas, Hello Utah!
We then spent a five days in Utah. It was coincidence that my cousin Britney was getting married that same weekend in Utah. Sterling and I were able to go the sealing, although it seemed that someone didn't want us there. Let me explain. In San Diego, one of the many cool things about having visitors is the chance to go on a date, or to the temple. Sterling and I were literally walking out the door to go to the temple when I jokingly asked him if he had his recommend. He paused. "No. Actually I don't. It's in my suit jacket...at home." Nice. So we left anyway, thinking we'd just call the bishop. Wrong. He's out of town. Well, Sterling's mother came for a visit later. Before she did, she went to our house to retrieve the recommend. While Sterling and I were walking out the door to my cousins sealing, I realized my wallet was gone. Btw, I put Sterling's recommend in there, with mine, for safe keeping. To shorten this surprisingly lengthy story, my wallet was either lost or stolen. Fortunately this time we were able to get a hold of our bishop.
ANYdangWAY, below are some pictures or Britney dancing with her cardboard brother, who is currently on his mission. He also stood in for all the pictures. What a cool idea. For our next family event, we'll have to make a cardboard Jeremy.
My Aunt Sherri busting a move. By the way, Sherri (hope I'm spelling your name right), do you have a picture of the cake?
