Sterling and I celebrated our 7th anniversary over the weekend and it was so nice. We dropped the boys at Grandma's on Friday, did some shopping, had dinner at a great little restaurant called JaK's Grill in West Seattle, stayed at a really nice hotel in Bellevue, went to a haunted house (p.s. haunted houses are for teenagers. lame for adults), had a nice breakfast, and attended the temple Saturday morning. I was able to go through for my great grandmother, which made it all the more exciting. We had a fantastic time together, quiet and relaxing with great conversation. Thank you Grandma for making it possible!

Can I just say how much I love this guy? If I could have one wish it would be that everyone could have there very own "Sterling". He's the best. Painting our faces was his idea and it was a lot of fun. Everyone who saw us got a kick out of it.
On our Anniversary I woke up to these beautiful flowers, delicious donuts, and a sweet card. That is a great way to start a day. Thank you babe!

Around here, we do our very best to give our boys whatever kind of party they want on their birthdays. It's their special day and we want to accommodate. This year, Marcus requested an alien theme so we ran with it. We turned our house upside down making our second floor a journey through space, where they had to traverse an alien planet in search of a rare commodity called spoonarium. They had to fight aliens, bust through a wall, and outrun the feared monster guarding the treasure. Though it wasn't as organized as we would have liked, the kids had a great time, and most importantly, Marcus loved it.

I won't blog about what happened to our poor alien friend. Let's just say, he has a hard time with warm temperatures.

Sterling's mother celebrated her birthday and Sterling painted this for her... in three hours. Amazing I know. At her party, guests placed finger prints in fall colors on the branches for leaves. Nice keepsake.

We met some really nice boys at the beach who were building a fort out of drift wood. My boys LOVED them, and Sterling and I have never seen Hayden work so hard!! He gathered a ton of wood!
